The Edstutia curriculum was developed in conjunction with industry experts, so every module is relevant to launch or further develop your personal career journey in today’s business climate. We listened to hiring managers and Higher Ed consultants to ensure what we are teaching is indeed of value to employers. The full-time program requires students to complete 30 modules: 16 Foundational, 12 Specialty, and 2 Capstone.

Edstutia’s commitment to students is that our curriculum will constantly evolve as our world does. That way, we stay in step with workplace demands, and students will always be learning relevant skills for jobs of today and tomorrow.

Foundational Modules

The Foundational modules are subjects that everyone should be well versed in, regardless of what industry they are targeting. These are the subjects that employers expect all employees to know.

The Art of Problem Solving

Build confidence in not only identifying the nucleus and variables of problems, but in crafting a variety of solutions applying proven strategies and tools sprinkled with creativity. This action-oriented module combines communication, leadership, and decision making skills to turn problems into opportunities.

Business Management

Business Management skills include organization and planning, project management, time management, people management, problem-solving and decision making, and more. Heavy emphasis on managing and interacting with people. Students will learn how to manage current business scenarios using relevant technology tools.

Critical Thinking/Reasoning

One of the most in-demand skills in business is being able to deeply think and reason with an open mind about divergent viewpoints. Students will walk away from this module with a renewed self-confidence in their ability to reason, as well as refined skills in analysis and comprehension of information to guide their own decision-making process.

Cross Cultural Competence

Working in a global environment requires employees to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people of differing mindsets, background, expectations, work ethic, etc. This module kicks off with a deep dive into one’s own self-awareness and world view, values, biases, motivations, attitudes, etc. then learns how to acknowledge, embrace and truly respect people with differing views and beliefs. The goal is to increase tolerance, improve teamwork, and open one’s mind when working with co-workers, customers, suppliers, etc. Students will work in multiple scenarios and challenges in VR to practice their skills.

Data Science

Learn how businesses use data to significantly accelerate product development, expand their customer base, optimize processes, and improve day-to-day operations. Students will learn how the data science life cycle works and the relationship between data science and statistics, mathematics, programming, machine learning, data visualization and communication, and even software development.

Working in a global environment requires employees to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people of differing mindsets, backgrounds, expectations, work ethic, etc. This requires a heightened sense of self-awareness about your own world view, values, biases, etc. This module will stretch you to see the world in a whole new way and not only acknowledge, but appreciate and embrace diversity across cultures.

Data Science

Learn how businesses use data to significantly accelerate product development, expand their customer base, optimize processes, and improve day-to-day operations. Students will learn how the data science life cycle works and the relationship between data science and statistics, mathematics, programming, machine learning, data visualization and communication, and even software development.

Design Thinking & Imagination

Learning the stages of design thinking is one thing; creating something tangible from one’s thinking and experimenting is something else. Students will be pushed out their comfort zones and will undoubtedly discover their inner creativity capabilities exploring VR, AR, gaming, and other technologies. Being able to expand one’s imagination, creativity – and mindset! – can unleash myriad ideas and solutions to complex problems in business today.

Digital Literacy

While digital literacy seems common sense these days, many employers claim that employees could be better at making sense and use of digital media. This includes meaningful and sustainable consumption, curation, and comprehension of digital content, with the goal of being a responsible digital citizen.

Integrated Marketing

This module covers critical skills and tools for digital marketers to think more holistically about marketing strategy and tactics. We will showcase examples of how to amplify campaigns and enhance how target audiences engage with brand products and/or services through the use of augmented reality so that both its message and brand differentiators can be communicated in a way that resonates and gets leads to convert – driving bottom-line results as well as building brand affinity and loyalty along the way.

Intelligence

Intelligence is ‘the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills’. Intelligence isn’t only measured by IQ tests. There are different kinds of intelligence that are relevant in the workplace today: personal, emotional, business, artificial. Students will be floored at how much they will learn about themselves and how they can apply their strengths in a business setting when it comes to problem solving, decision making, and communicating.

Coding is akin to a foreign language, yet knowing how to code gives people the mindset and toolkit to improve problem solving and logic skills in the workplace. Students will learn the fundamentals of coding languages – from attributes to variables to looping – as well as coding standards and best practices. Students will learn the basics of popular programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, and Java with the objective of building a tangible outcome.

Leadership for the 21st Century

Leading people and organizations is much different today in a digital-driven world. Leadership isn’t a one size fits all proposition. Being an effective leader today encompasses being a risk taker and an inspiration to others while navigating a fast-paced world of uncertainty.

How can you re-package your strengths and values with emotional intelligence, empathy, compassion, and consciousness? Begin by expanding your self-awareness. End up with a personalized leadership development plan.

Money Management

This module covers budgeting, financial statement creation and analysis, and most importantly personal financial management (one of the most important things every student should know, but is rarely taught in school). Your knowledge, self-confidence and relationship with money will soar.

Multi-Modal Communications

Having solid communication skills is no longer equivalent to being able to write a professional business document or deliver a powerpoint presentation. In addition, employers now demand that employees also know how to listen, ask great questions, tell a story, and deliver a persuasive pitch. And you need to be comfortable communicating via different channels that may be face-to-face, virtually, or digitally.

Own Your Career

This is the career readiness module everyone has been waiting for. Build a short and long-term career map using contemporary assessments, tools, and frameworks. You’ll learn more about yourself and what drives you to determine job fit, to purposefully network, to nail interviews, and to manage ‘You, Inc.’ in a diverse, fast-paced business world.

Business professionals are expected to know how to conceptualize a design or brand and use leading technology tools to build it. This module also includes User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design, whereby students will learn how to build frameworks, wireframes, prototypes, site maps, and more.

Specialty Modules

Specialty modules are akin to a traditional ‘major’. Students can customize their own education by selecting 12 additional modules of interest to them and their career goals. We will, however, offer suggested tracks for students interested in specific fields, such as Marketing & Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Cyber Security.

Advanced CSS

Building on foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, this module dives deeper into the capabilities of CSS with website development. Students will evaluate design layouts, analyze style guides, create a responsive grid system and build a semantic HTML and CSS foundation.

Advanced Website Development

This module explores advanced concepts of HTML and CSS to build more complex websites. Further activity in Git and Github will strengthen coding skills, while learning about responsive web development will help enhance the user experience. Students will create their own websites that showcase their web development skills and insight.

Artificial Intelligence

Learn about the capabilities of AI and how it will transform business. Knowing the lexicon and business applications, as well as how AI is linked to other technologies such as machine learning and robotics, will give you the confidence to make informed, strategic decisions about business performance on both short- and long-term horizons. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based advertising model that nearly every business wants to utilize to generate traffic and leads to their website. Students will learn about the different types of affiliate programs (unattached, related, involved), key constituents and tools, and how to develop a comprehensive Affiliate Marketing campaign.

ARXD (Augmented Reality Experience Design)

In this module, students will use Augmented Reality tools to create environments in which they can communicate with an external audience. Think: teaching a lesson, delivering a persuasive pitch, telling a story, or delivering other types of entertainment. No coding skills required. Students will focus on the design thinking process, iteration, and using the affordances of 3D immersive communication to design a professional-level AR experience.

Blockchain

Students will learn about the benefits and challenges of Blockchain in business and speculate on its impact in a variety of industries. Key concepts such as blocks, the hash function, a nonce, nodes, miners, and cryptography will be covered, as well as principles and protocols for using Blockchain. Introduction to primary development tools such as Solidity, Geth, Mist, and Remix.

Business Development

Business Development encompasses a variety of functions (marketing, strategy, sales, etc.) to grow an organization and create value for customers. Tap into your inner social abilities and learn how to effectively manage key relationships to optimize collaboration and ultimately serve customers.

Cloud & Edge Computing

This module introduces students to Cloud Computing deployment models, service categories, migration strategies, DevOps, and related security issues. Edge Computing is also integrated into the curriculum to keep students up to date on the evolution of Cloud Computing. Knowing how to use leading platform services such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce and Adobe will catapult one’s career, regardless of industry.

Cloud Cost Optimization

The goal of cloud cost optimization is to manage an organization’s overall cloud spend and to optimize cloud-based services. Students will learn how to streamline spending, eliminate waste, maximize resource allocation, and then apply best practices to develop multi-cloud strategies to effectively and intelligently utilize platforms like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Key concepts include heatmaps, reserved instances, and spot instances.

In this module, students are guided through the entire data project lifecycle, using cutting-edge 3-dimensional tools in Virtual Reality to push the analysis and presentation process into an entirely new realm. Students will learn how the transition from 2D to 3D content spaces are transforming the world of data analysis and visualization and ultimately produce a data analysis project in 3D.

Entrepreneurial Mindset

Learn to be a true problem solver and change agent by embracing an entrepreneurial mindset. This module covers ideation, opportunity recognition, trend analysis, sizing a market, competitive analysis, risk management, financial management and funding strategies, and business models. Students will go through the process of taking a kernel of an idea to developing a polished pitch.

Full Stack Development

Full Stack Development is the development of both front and back end components of an application. This includes designing interactions, developing servers and databases, coding for mobile platforms. Being able to build an application with this holistic view is not only rewarding, but in high demand.

Intro to JavaScript

With the ability to create interactive effects on websites, JavaScript is one of the most sought-after coding languages on the market today. The module begins with topics such as drawing and animation basics, but then expands to include arrays, strings, functions, looping, etc. Students will walk away with some killer code output that they can be proud of.

Intro to Python

This module introduces students to the fundamentals of Python, including syntax, functions, lists, loops, strings, and more. It is a versatile programming language that will enable students to springboard into more advanced web development projects.

Intro to Scientific Computing

Scientific Computing is a type of computing that is used to solve scientific problems, but the same techniques can be applied to business problems via mathematical models. This is an advanced, math-driven module that will introduce leading programming languages such as Matlab and Mathematica to model and tackle complex business scenarios such as financial risk management.

Intro to Software Development

Learn the basics of software development including interfaces, conventions, templates, layering, algorithmic complexity, hashing, caching, concurrency and cloud computing. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the Agile software development methodology.

Machine Learning

Machine Learning is linked to AI and enables computer programs to learn from historical data, algorithms, statistical models, and user experiences so machines can make informed decisions on their own. This module will cover the three types of machine learning: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. Students will learn how organizations are integrating machine learning into their businesses today and then research how to utilize machine learning in various industries.

Mobile App Development

Students will learn the basics in Kotlin and Swift to build the foundation of mobile applications for both Android and iOS operating systems. As part of the development process, students will invest a significant amount of time in the design, testing, and marketing phases resulting in tangible outcomes.

Network Automation & DevOps

Network Automation is the process by which software automatically configures, manages and tests network devices. This can include physical devices and services as well as virtual devices. DevOps combines cultural ideals and practices with contemporary tech tools to help organizations deliver applications/services/solutions quickly and cost-effectively. Students will learn about DevOps life cycles, process, roles and more to deliver better experiences to customers and drive business results. This is an advanced course that prepares interested students for entry-level DevOps roles.

Predictive Analytics

Every business professional today needs to understand how to use existing data to predict future outcomes and optimize productivity. For example, predicting consumer demands or assessing organizational risk in a volatile economy. Students will learn how to use leading analytics tools such as SAS and Tableau to guide intelligent decision making.

Algorithms impact nearly every aspect of our lives and in business. They are commonly used for planning, controlling, automation, social media, mobile commerce, and all things connected to the Internet. This module hones in on the key concepts and language that business professionals need to understand to leverage the power, utility, and value of algorithms to guide decision making.

Capstone Modules

The last term of the full-time program is dedicated to two intensive modules: Systems Thinking and Futuring. This is where students put all the pieces together – applying their new skills to real-world consulting projects. We don’t live in silos, nor should students learn in silos. The purpose of these modules is for students to showcase their newly acquired skills, mindset, and expertise to not just tell, but show potential employers the immediate value they can bring to an organization.

System Thinking

Systems Thinking is an underlying philosophy, as well as a diagnostic tool, that involves observing events and data, identifying patterns and behaviors, comprehending underlying structures, and understanding decision making options to develop long-term solutions to chronic problems in the world we live in. This mindset helps us articulate problems in new and different ways to make more informed decisions.

Futuring

Futuring is the art of exploring and anticipating the future, personally or professionally. It transforms one from approaching challenges and problems in a reactive or passive way, into a preactive (anticipating the changes) and proactive (executing the changes) way. Future thinking enables one to create ‘what if’ scenarios to better plan and adapt in a world of uncertainty.
